اکبر اسفندیاری بنه کهل، اهل تهران، در ۱۸ دی ۱۴۰۴ (۸ ژانویه ۲۰۲۶) در جریان جنبشهای اعتراضی در قلعهحسنخان تهران کشته شد. جانباختن او همزمان با موج اعتراضات موسوم به «انقلاب شیر و خورشید» رخ داد. پس از جان باختن، از او در میان مردم و حامیان جنبش با عنوان «جاویدنام»، «فرزند عزیز ایران» و «جانفدای میهن» یاد میشود که جان خود را در راه وطن فدا کرده است.
